Reverend Ezra James Sloan, Sr. was born in Terrell County, GA on April 18, 1951 to Mrs. Andrew Lean Sloan Robinson and the late John King.
He attended the public schools of Terrell County, GA. After high school, he served in the United States Army for several years.
He accepted Christ as his personal savior and served him faithfully. In the later years of his life, he accepted his call into the ministry and preached the Word of God for several years.
On August 01, 2012, our dearly beloved Ezra answered the call of His Father and Master at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, GA. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Evon Sloan; a sister, Juanita Brown Teasley and two brothers, Curtis Lee Sloan and John Henry Sloan.
Memories of his smile, laughter and love will always remain with his mother, Andrew Lean Sloan Robinson, Albany, GA; mother of his children, Eva J. Sloan, Dawson, GA; two daughters, Annie L. Sloan, Atlanta, GA and Jotoya E. Sloan, Daytona Beach, FL; two sons, Kelvin B. Sloan, Sr., Albany, GA and Ezra J. Sloan, Jr., Monroe, LA; eleven grandchildren, Kumoski Whitlock, D’Angelo Whitlock, Na’Breia Sloan and ShaTajae Sloan, all of Atlanta, GA; Ja’Narion Z. Sloan, Valdosta, GA, Eddie J. Tarver, Albany, GA, RaeKwon Sloan and Wyshundria Sloan, both of Daytona Beach, FL, Kelvin B.
